Popping in to celebrate the release of my friend Mark Brownlow's new Pride and Prejudice variation, Port & Proposals! This is the second in Mark's series of Mr. Bennet's Memoirs, where he fills in Mr B's POV during the second half of P&P.
Mr. Bennet would much rather sit at home with his books and port, but he's much more active during this time than we may have thought, meeting with his friends, matchmaking his daughter (the last one you'd think), and dealing with the regret and guilt and frustration surrounding a past love. Once Lydia runs off (spoiler?), all of those past actions inform and determine his next moves.
Mark really channels Mr. Bennet and brings his trademark wit to this oft-overlooked character in P&P. The story is funny and wistful and surprising all at once. It's available now!
