Tonight we're gonna party like it's 1999! (I am sorry for the earworm I've put in your head, but every time I look at this cover, it gets in mine!) Like It's 1999 is a holiday-ish/New Year's novella in Karen Grey’s Boston Classics series set in the '80s, and this one is a When Harry Met Sally-like exploration of a relationship between two people who don't realize they're meant to be together.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Alice's best friend Kate is getting married, and she's helping with wedding planning alongside Kate's best guy friend, Hot Steve. They have an undeniable attraction (that they indulge in) and a similar fun-loving perspective where they don't want to be tied down, but they make a marriage pact on NYE 1989: if they're both not married by 1999, they'll marry each other. Life pulls them apart, but can they come back together by the end of the century?

Hot Steve had a small role (as did Alice) in Karen's first book What I'm Looking For, and I loved him so much there--he was a total himbo '80s bro on the surface, but had surprising depths. So I'm so happy Karen gave him a book AND paired him with Alice, who just rocks. If you're looking for a quick holiday read that isn't super Christmas-y, this is it! It's available on Amazon and KU now!
